Emely VegaPresidentHi everyone, my name is Emely! I am both the president and social chair positions for Operation Smile. I have seen over the past year that there are so many people who don't know about cleft lip and palates, and I want to be a person who can help bring awareness. I have my heart set on SLP at the moment, and I know this will be a big part of my journey.
I think being president will definitely be a challenge for me because it is definitely going to bring me out of my comfort zone. I am excited to be able to do more fundraising and events as well now that everything is starting to be more in person. I think the President position is so important and I am hoping to be able to step up to the plate and help the club have a successful year. I hope to bring my skills and knowledge to this club and be able to have an exciting year with everyone. Thank you! |
Sofia Barahona BonillaVice President/Social Media CoordinatorHello everyone! My name is Sofia and I am running for Operation Smile Vice President. A brief summary about me is that I’m a baker, I love all animals, and I enjoy going on adventures! I chose to run for Vice President because I am dedicated to being a hard worker and team player. I put my all in everything I work on. I believe I will thrive in this position due to previous experience with leadership roles. I look forward to collaborating with my peers in this new position. As social media coordinator I understand that this new outlet to communicate is important to bringing awareness to Operation Smile. Being an advocate to Operation Smile is important to me because I believe that this organization helps change lives!

Nikki DuttaSecretaryHi everyone! My name is Nikki Dutta and I am the Secretary for Operation Smile for 2022-2023. I was born and raised in Sacramento, and moved to SF looking for new friends and change. Operation Smile has an amazing mission to help children with cleft-lip and cleft-palate to eat, communicate, and so on. The position for Secretary interested me because I love helping others and being a part of a community. Also, organization is exciting for me and that’s what
makes this position perfect for me! While I do have an interest in audiology, communication is so interesting. It is a crucial part of our lives, and the opportunities given to children through Operation Smile is what drew me in. I not only want to learn more about what I can do in this community, but also bring in my peers to grow more support. I am looking forward to an awesome year! <3 |
Estefany CastilloTreasurerHello hello!!!! For those who don’t know me, my name is Estefany Castillo. The first time I heard of Operation Smiles and learned about its mission, I instantly felt drawn to joining the club. As a smaller club, I’d love to bring more light to such an important cause. I am very excited to work with the rest of the OS officers and collaborate to create a welcoming and supportive club. I’d love to bring all my skills to the table and make this year for OS awesome.
Caitlin Mietzel Social Chair Hi all, I'm Caitlin! I am Operations Smiles's current Social chair! I am looking forward to becoming more involved and get an inside on what is happening in the club. I can't wait to see you all in person! I was always interested in joining a club like Operation Smile because I love the mission and am planning on becoming a Speech Pathologist in the future. I have been working with children for five+ years and am looking forward to continuing to do what I love. I think Operation Smile sends out an excellent message and strives to bring awareness about cleft palate. It is key to bring awareness and inclusivity around us! |
